Um...this first one was um... a little bumpy since um... we were new to the whole um... podcasting thing. We recorded this on August 31, 2009. We accidentally lost a chunk of the recording, but hopefully what is there is entertaining. Enjoy!

Note: So sorry! We know that the audio is quiet and that it is only in the left channel. Unfortunately since we've already recorded several episodes there's nothing we can really do about the audio quality of those, but just know that future episodes will get better.
(another note: jorge put the "ums" in the description above due to all of his "umming" in this first podcast.)

LMAO!!! Neither of you get it.
The people on the plane are at Day 1 and the people on the island are post-hatch explosion. So there people on the island are *later* than the plane crash day. Not sure how the 3 years thing comes into it though. That's what I'm not getting. Did three years pass on the island? Weren't Jack and Oceanic 6 and Desmond etc.. rescued by Penny's boat in 2005? How do you know it's 2007? According to Lostpedia the plane crashed on the Island the first time on Sept. 22, 2004, the Hatch was blown up on November 27, 2004 so it was after that and before Jack and the O6 got rescued by Penny's boat on (according to Lostpedia) December 31, 2004. So there was only about a month's window when they could have woken up on the island.
If Desmond is a Constant why was he on the plane? And still.. Hurley.. why were he in Australia? He went to find out why the numbers were cursed.. not because you're the luckiest man in the world.
yea.. and where's Shannon? What did the island have to do with whether her relationship with chumly was good or not?? Or was it just that the actress who plays that role couldn't make it for the taping?
Can you tell? I loved the podcast!! But maybe I should listen to the whole thing and take notes before posting.
Thanks guys. you're the best!
It's 2007 plus 100 days because Jacob is dead and (the Moster) seems to be the head honcho... and it is also September 2004 at LAX.
As near as I can tell.
I just remember sitting there listening to Ben do the whole recap thing and Jessica sitting next to me saying "I'm so lost." Very poignant.
Thumbs up to Jorge and Sidekick22.
LOOOOVE IT! And you guys..............
Jorge,
I have a question for you. As a method actor, how difficult was it to convince yourself, as Hurley, that you actually knew how to use that gun? Because there's just no way...
Peace,
--Scott
Love this podcast!!
IMHO...It's 2007 because they've jumped into the same time as Sun, Ben, Lapidus, etc...the peeps who landed on the Ajira Flight in 2007. Sun and the other beach people could see the flare from the temple. Of course, we could find out later that the flare they saw on the beach was something completely different than the flare at the temple, but for now, I'm going with 2007. :)
First Off: I'm so glad you guys are doing this.
Second: This is my partial theory for the story progression.
Many-Worlds Interpretation, (Wiki)
Proponents argue that many-worlds reconciles how we can perceive non-deterministic events, such as the random decay of a radioactive atom, with the deterministic equations of quantum physics. Prior to many-worlds, reality had been viewed as a single "world-line". Many-worlds, rather, views reality as a many-branched tree where every possible quantum outcome is realised.
That's what I'm going with.
Loved this. I'm happy to know you guys were as lost as I felt last night on your first look. I can't wait to hear more of your musings.
On the theory front: I think Kate being in the tree was very similar to the pilot who ended up dead in the tree in 101. Hopefully that doesn't mean she'll be dead soon.
Why is Hurley wearing a red shirt?
Thanks! Yeah, I think it made more sense to us finally being able to watch it. Reading it is one thing, but the direction, acting, editing, cinematography all coming together make it a little easier to understand.
And how awesome was it to see Dharmaville UNDER water! That blew my mind!
Thanks Applesister and David Patrick for clearing up the 2007 thing for me.
Great jobs, guys! Congrats! It's finally good to HEAR IT after only hearing ABOUT IT. Can't wait for Episode Two!
I still don't know what the hell is going on! but I enjoyed the podcast
jack's beard stinks of day old oxycontin.
keep up the good work!
Thanks for taking the time to do the podcast. I had a lot of fun listening to it.
Being able to hear your interactions with the script really added to the repeat viewings of the episode. The rubble digging scene is now far more lighthearted.
Prior to listening to this podcast, I was most impressed with Hurley's take charge moment during the Save Sayid segment. It was nice to finally see Hurley step up and be more than the audience proxy/joker of the group. I'm hoping we get treated to more of that Hurley throughout the season (not that Fun Time Hurley was bad.)
i think after the hydrogen bomb went off everyone was moved to 2007. on the other hand i also think the plane scenes are the "new" future (flash forwards) and that is why the island is underwater.
when miles told sawyer that juliet said "it worked" i think it really did. however i think they don't end up at LAX untill they complete some other task. after that task is over they end up at LAX just like they thought they would have after they hydrogen bomb went off. something they do before they leave causes the island to be submerged.
Rachel and I just listened to the podcast and it was awesome. In regards the whole what time is everyone in. I think that Season 6, Episode 1 is in two times…well three kindof.
When they are on the island(time 1)I believe that it is the same time as Frank, Sun, Ben, and the others. I think that the parts on the plane (time 2) is happening the day of the would be crash.
The reason why I say three times is because I believe that (like Rachel said) they need to do something before they go back in time (to the plane scenes) so in order to get back to pre crash they need to do some task. The whole time post Season 6 Episode 1 through the plane scenes is time 3. I don’t know how well other people will understand this…sorry.
Ugh, computer error, I am not writing my entire comment over again. the gist of it, is that I liked the podcast, I don't want them to be off the island, and I'm really confused. yeah!
No way! I am so excited about this! Thank you both - looking forward to listening to your take on things as a part of the show and a fan of it. Consider me subscribed :)
Love. It. Keep it up.
Awesome! Can't wait to listen to the future podcasts!!
Cliff
Fun podcast, and looking forward for upcoming editions! But it would be nice if you could audio level much higher, because I have to increase my speakers to maximum and still have trouble hearing.
This is great, good to know the confusion isn't on our part! One thing: sound is a bit low and panned a lot to the left, but otherwise it's all good :) Thanks guys!
Christian Shepherd's body is missing and Oceanic doesn't know where it is. Maybe Christian Shepherd still got sucked down to the island and that's still what's wrong.
Do you suppose the Others at the Temple are who brought Christian "back to life" if he really was "alive"? And if they could do that to him, could they do it to Juliet? Would they have been able to do it to Libby, Boone and Shannon. Maybe Sawyer should go dig Juliet up and bring her to the Temple. But the water looks brackish and not clear now. It doesn't seem to work as fast as before because Dogen thought Sayid was dead.
So maybe drinking the water at the Caves cured Rose's cancer. Now that the water's brackish will her cancer come back? Did she and Bernard move back to the Caves once they realized the water had magical properties and they died there to become "Adam and Eve".
Is it fair to assume that the water at the Temple is suddenly brackish because the bomb did something to the source? Maybe it created a crack in the rock and sea water is leaking in.. or something. maybe the Island has developed something like a slow leak and that's why it ends up on the bottom.
Why did Jack have an open wound on his neck in the plane in 2004 in the same place he had a wound on his neck on the island post-bomb in 2007. There's still a connection there. If Desmond is Daniel's constant, maybe Christian is Jack's. Since Christian is missing and possible still on the island, Jack still has a connection to that island. Even Claire, Christian's shack buddy, made it off alive.
Trivia: Dōgen Zenji was a notable Zen Buddhist master and teacher. Shortly before his death he wrote:
Fifty-four years lighting up the sky.
A quivering leap smashes a billion worlds.
Hah!
Entire body looks for nothing.
Living, I plunge into Yellow Springs
A very enjoyable listening experience! Looking forward to you two continuing this.
Have you seen this youtube video yet - side by side comparisons of Jack/Cindy/Rose on O815 in the Pilot vs. LA X.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoaRzEMpya0
That was a lot of fun. I like that the script comfirms Jack's sense of deja vu, which some viewers have interpreted differently.
I really wish I could have heard your thoughts on the second half of the episode, though. Too bad the audio was lost. Do you think you could summarize your thoughts about the other half of LA X in the beginning of your next Podcast?
I think I just found my new favorite podcast! Jorge you are amazing dude. Can't wait to see Hurley 'shine' in this final season.
Hopped up on Goofballs. Great comment, Vonnegut is a great author.
Thanks very much for doing this guys, I loved it! subscribed.
love to you both from Scotland
Just a technical note...
The right channel is way, way quiet compared to the left. You two might want to look into that, though I imagine you've already recorded almost all of these already.
Thanks Jorge and Sidekick for allowing us to see that even those intimately related to the show approach the story with the wide-eyed sense of discovery that the audience has.
LOVE LOVE LOVED your podcast! I will be listening every week! I really hope to be entertained by you two in some form or the other(podcasts, blogs, website, reality show) after May 23rd.
(to fix future audio. stereo it up in an audio tracking program [audacity is free], pan each track hard left and hard right, blast the overall volume and re-rip it fast to MP3! simple simon.)
Love the podcast. It's really cool to hear your reaction to the scrip read before the production. Although, I think it's a bit of a spoiler to tell what Jack's stage direction is. There's a great theory of it all over at Dark UFO.
Yup, I'm enjoying thus far. It's VERY interesting (to me at least) hearing the script notes, compared to what ends up on air.
Hey! Great to see that you've entered the blogosphere! I love the concept of the audience being able to hear what's going through your head when you see the script. Too bad it will only be for one season!
BTW, your audio is still totally salvageable. I even fixed this one to make it both centered and louder. If you guys need any help with that, I (and thousands of other folks, I'm sure) would be happy to help!
Hope all is well with you two!
Sorry to double post, but also of interest to me: What were the Hurley lines that weren't in the script?
This was so great, i hope you guys keep doing them after each episode.
Thanks a lot.
Hey nice job Jorge and Beth.
The conversation about the beard reminded me of the Dharmalars which is a VERY good thing... Had me laughing in public.
Keep up the good work!
Alex
You guys are totally stoned, right ? Great podcast. Thanks xo
I can't find the podcast on iTunes... Can anyone help?
Thank you guys for making a podcast. Will be downloading every one. Luv you guys~
/o.0/
stereoized the file if you ever want to re-archive it, O'whateva! - http://www.mediafire.com/file/mzwjomnfmyk/Geronimo601602(stereo).mp3
This makes me so happy!
Thank you for your podcast. I'm especially interested to hear both your initial reactions to the finale when it airs.
To Jorge: I enjoyed your part in the premiere. The "Duuuuude!" when he broke open the ankh was priceless.
To Beth: Isn't it violating all sorts of agreements if you read the script? ;}. Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me.
Thank you people for this awesome podcast. I've even reviewed it on iTunes. I love such insider views, and I very like your voices.
Now I'm waiting for continue! :-)
Actually, even after LOST ends, I'll always be glad to listen to your podcasts, even if they won't be about LOST. Because you people rock.
twitter and facebook, so now you have both of these. Anyway, the podcast was awesome, there are some things in the script I didn't notice when I watched it, Desmond in a suit. I think that there needs to be some sacrifices. I don't know if its all of the Oceanic 6, but I think at least Jack has to die to make things right. But before he does that he will kill the smoke monster/men in black possibly with Hurley's help. Hurley may die too :( Then everyone will be okay but Jack and possibly others will die and never survive.
You're soooo confused! :)) That was nice.
Thank for giving us the phrase "Confused Familiarity" from the script.
I used it in a Haiku on my Lost Haiku Blog:
Window Seat Again
Confused Familiarity
Have Another Drink
Can't wait for your next podcast! Take care guys.
Podcast - cool to hear. Audio quality - meh. Off balance - way more in the left channel. Are all of them like that? If so can ya fix it, or do you need help fixing it? Cause I can like, help ya with that and stuff.

Great that you guys are doing the podcasts... I look forward to hearing more...
Thought it was hilarious neither of you had any idea what was going on - I tend to be the same when I read scripts and then when you see it it all makes much more sense...
Jorge and Sidekick - you rock! What is funny is that my buddy and I were having the 2004 versus 2007 discussion in the break room not 10 minutes before I listened to this, so it was great to see that even you guys are confused.
One theory that I have had since Hurley had his conversation with "dead Charlie" outside the mental asylum, was that he was not speaking to dead people so much as "alternate" people.
Keep doing this awesome podcast. We love you Jorge... a true friend of the fans!
So cool of you to do this! It's really fun to hear you talking about it, especially when you've only read the script and don't quite know what it all means yet. I love how you sound just as confused as the rest of us! I loved the "Can you fix him, Jack?" moment too. And I really loved the whole conversation with Jacob, especially Hurley's "Oh, bummer, dude..." when he found out that Jacob was dead. Anyway, the two of you make a great podcasting team! Can't wait for the next one!
That was fun! I love that you are as confused as we are! At the end, Jorge said, "We'll try to this as weakly as we can." What? Or did you mean, "We will try to do this weekly, if we can."
LOL. Looking forward to future installments!
: ) P
Ok, jus listened to the first podcast. Love the show. Very cool to here your perspective from reading the script after I've watched the show. I do hope you can be a lil more focused with your notes though.
Now.. the bomb/time travel thing: Daniel explained time is like a record spinning on a turntable. Now imagine that there are an infinite number of records that all start off the same but change as the record goes on. Also remember that Daniel used electromagnetism to time travel the bunnies minds. So setting off a bomb in the electormagnetic pocket of the Swan station split time in 2.
1 fracture where there is no more island, so no more Desmond on the island not pushing the button to make the plane crash. But there is still the connectedness (6 degrees time thing), which is why he was on the plane (Sep 2004). So everyone is still on the plane but a lil different because their past (since 1977) is different.
2nd fracture is the 'normal' timeline the main characters have been on since the beginning. Where just like when the "record was skipping" the bomb just skipped them in time back to the present (2007 post Ajira & Jacob killed).
Why did Locke say he went on the walkabout? Maybe he did maybe he was lying. Point is.. things are similar but different. Rose comforts Jack instead of the other way around (similar but different). I don't think this 'fractured' timeline will end up on the island. But their connectedness will continue to bring them into each others lives.
That is until Jacob or the island can some how put things right and clean up the time continuim
I forgot to leave a comment when I listened to this the other day--I enjoyed it a lot after watching "LA X." Now I see I'm a podcast or two behind, so I will get caught up tonight. :)
dude...
