Cheese Curds

Just to clear up the online discussion...the line was "cheese curds", not "cheese carrots" when Hurley wakes up.

It's a Wisconsin thing, and oddly enough during our podcast for episode #610 that we recorded while in Wisconsin for Xmas, we mention cheese curds quite a bit.

One of the writers of the epi, Adam Horowitz, went to UW-Madison so I guess he was just reminiscing about the fantastic wonders that are cheese curds.

I miss Wisconsin,

I thought it was "cheese curls" one of my favorite junk foods. By the way that GJB logo would make a cool tee shirt. Love the show.

Cheese curds are the best! I grew up on the North Shore of Lake Superior here in Canada, on the Canada Minnesota border. I am all too familiar with those delicious curds. Mmmm I miss them.

I didn't know cheese curds were a Wisconsin thing, though that makes sense. I always get them when I go to Penn State's main campus. The smoked bacon-cheddar ones are the best...

If you have never had cheese curds, come to the Syttendme Mai festival in this dinky little Wisconsin town called stoughton in may. It could pretty much be called beer and cheese curd festival.

fried cheese curds are unspeakably amazing. But not something you want to eat every day. I think I'll go get some for lunch. Yeah, I'm a 'Sconnie

I love the way cheese curds make your teeth squeak when you chew them.

I grew up in Hayward, and I love cheddar cheese curds (fried and unfried). I can't say I miss Wisconsin that much, but I definitely miss the best cheddar cheese in the world and bratwurst.

Mmm cheese curds! This episode made me hungry. I bet I probably mutter "cheese curds" in my sleep too :)

My hometown is in WI, so whenever I drove that way, I stop at the Mars Cheese Castle to stock up.

That sounds yummy. I never heard of that until "Dr. Linus."

Ha Mars Cheese Castle, thats always my landmark coming up 94 to tell me I'm almost home. Their way to expensive though, I just hit up a pick 'n save cheese isle(yes non Wisco folks they have a whole isle dedicated to cheese, not just a part of the dairy isle)

Sarsafrass.. I'm originally from Quebec. The thing I miss the most is a decent poutine. For some reason, people outside Quebec don't understand what it takes to make a decent poutine.

I'm a student at UW-Madison and my hometown is not to far from here. When I was a freshman I remember having cheese curds with people from out of state. They thought it sounded weird/gross, but after the first bite they were hooked!

On our first podcast my cohost mentioned this. We're from Wisconsin too, so we're getting a kick out of these replies.

I couldn't believe it when I heard Hurley say "cheese curds". My friend Brandon, who grew up in Wisconsin, is the only person I've ever heard talk about cheese curds, and he was practically obsessed with them at one time. And we were both logged onto IRC while watching that LOST episode, and he got pretty excited at that part!

Like Sarsafrass said, cheese curds are practically a dairy staple in most of Quebec and parts of Ontario, in Canada. They are so yummy! My dad and I have mapped out which cheesemakers make the best ones in our area. We're crazy.

BTW, I love the podcast!

I LOVE CHEESE CURDS! Especially fried!
I had never had them before, being from Ohio, but went up to WI last february and experienced them and got hooked!
Luckily A&W around these parts sells them, way expensive, but i am willing to pay the price for the fried cheesy goodness!!! (though the ones in Wisconsin are WAY better!!)
